Bible Answer

Did John the Baptist receive the Holy Spirit in the womb?

When John leaped in his mother's womb, was this considered spiritual baptism?

The Bible reports that John was filled with the Holy Spirit while in the womb:

Luke 1:13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John.
Luke 1:14 “You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.
Luke 1:15 “For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb.

This is an anointing of the Spirit and an indication that John would serve the Lord. As such, it is also the moment John was "born again" or spiritually baptized. David experienced a similar conversion at infancy:

Psa. 22:9 Yet You are He who brought me forth from the womb;
You made me trust when upon my mother’s breasts.
Psa. 22:10 Upon You I was cast from birth;
You have been my God from my mother’s womb.
